About Vance Christopher

For more than 40 years, Vance Christopher has stood in the courtroom fighting for fairness and swift justice. Board-certified in Civil Trial Law, he’s tried over 50 civil cases and 40 criminal jury trials, earning the respect of peers, clients, and the legal community.

Meet Vance

Vance’s career began in the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, under then District Attorney Johnny Holmes. As an Assistant District Attorney, he tried criminal cases and learned firsthand the importance of fairness, preparation, and integrity. He went on to join Crain Caton & James, where he became a first-chair trial lawyer in civil cases. Over the years, he has been recognized consistently by Best Lawyers and Texas Super Lawyers for his work in commercial litigation, fiduciary disputes, and personal injury defense. He is also rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting the highest level of professional excellence and ethical standards.

During his more than four decades in the courtroom, Vance Christopher has built a reputation as one of Harris County’s most respected trial lawyers. He is board-certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and few trial lawyers can match his trial and courtroom experience. From the courtroom to arbitration, he has handled complex disputes involving businesses, families, trusts, and insurance companies, earning a track record of results and the respect of his peers.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Vance is rooted in Harris County. He met his wife Tracy at UT Law School. They moved to Houston after law school. They have raised their family here and remain active in their church and community. Together, they share a deep commitment to the law and to public service. Vance is also a proud grandfather. His perspective as a husband, father, and grandfather shapes his belief that the law must serve real people with fairness and compassion.

Vance has long been dedicated to giving back to his community. In addition to his work as an Assistant District Attorney, he has volunteered with CASA, where he has stood up for vulnerable children in the foster system. His commitment to service and to helping families navigate some of life’s most difficult challenges is a natural extension of his work as a lawyer.
